A Mail-List for the discussion of Genealogy & Family Humor is now available. This is NOT a general humor mail list. It is "restricted" to humor concerning genealogy & family life and is for the enjoyment of age groups 10 to 100+. This is not a monitored list, BUT, you are responsible for not going too far off-subject.

LIST POLICIES

1. "KEEP IT CLEAN"....... You abuse it, you lose it!!
             A lot of jokes/humor can be "cleaned up" for presentation on this list and still be humorous.
             If your post is "questionable" send it to me first and I will decide if it should be forwarded.

2. NO FLAMES: Send all comments (good or bad) to . Sending comments to the list concerning your approval or disapproval of postings offered "could" be grounds for your suspension or removal from the list. FLAME WARS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!

3. While race, religion, sex & politics are a part of everyday life, no "bashing" of any is allowed. This is a very "touchy" area, please be VERY respectful of those that may not have the same beliefs as yourself.

4. ANY posting of ....off subject topics "may" lead to a timed suspension or removal from this mail-list. This is a "genealogy & family humor" list.... not a place for posting general humor or genealogical materials, requests, links or announcements. There are other lists for such postings.

5. As Listowner, I reserve the right to remove any subscriber, for any reason, that I determine as detrimental to the purpose and spirit of this list!

6. DO NOT SEND attachments, virus warnings, chain letters, etc. to this list.

7. Learn to use your "delete" button. There will be postings that not everyone finds humorous. Delete them and move on. If you find this list does not fit your needs, just unsubscribe yourself, without comments to the list.

8. NEW: Your messages will be rejected by the Rootsweb Mail-list software, if SmartList detects any file attachments (including VCARDS), HTML messages and enriched text postings. See Below:

9. If you can agree to abide by the aforementioned policies and guidelines we would love to have you join in! If you cannot, then perhaps another humor list would better fit your needs and ours.

Remember, if you send your message to GenHumor-L@rootsweb.com, it will go to everyone on the list. If you stay on-subject then most of your responses should of interest to the whole list. But, you can keep personal responses... Personal, by replying only to the sender.

Since there is sometimes confusion as to which e-mail address to send "SUBSCRIBE" & "UNSUBSCRIBE" information to and sometimes the copy of the List Welcome Letter gets lost, I will try to make it as easy as possible. I will leave this page in place. You can even save a copy of this whole page to a folder on your hard disk and send messages through your browser.

If, YES, .......first, please remember to turn off all signatures, tag-lines, etc. If you are required to put something in the "Subject" area then just put a ( . ) period.

Have you turned off your signature, taglines, etc. ??

If, YES, then just click here and type only the word... subscribe ... in the body/text area of the message. Don't type your name or anything else in the body/text area.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. Be sure to include your name and email address in the signature or text of each message. It's a good habit for all Email.
2. If you are going to change ISP's or E-mail addresses, always remember to UNSUB from all "LISTS" before you change. You cannot "UNSUB" from the new address. After your change is completed, then Re-SUB to the LISTS'.

If you think something might be important enough for everyone to know, then send it to me and I will decide if it needs to be forwarded to the list. The only FLAMES allowed around here are from a warm, cozy fireplace or the hot sun. If you receive any "flame," I want you for forward a copy to me and please do not respond to it. I will take care of any problems. Let's all have fun, make new friends, find new relatives and enjoy this wonderful media.
